Welcome to my homepage. I am a Global Art Award winner and inventor of the patented new painting trend Cosalien (Cosmos + Alien) — paintings that combine imagination and emotion to share a unique perspective on the world.
Original conceptual paintings selected to bring emotion, depth and a sense of the cosmos into living spaces around the world.
Expressionist works that translate inner emotional experience into bold colour and form, in deliberate contrast to physical reality.
A collection of internationally recognised, award-winning artworks rooted in the Cosalien painting trend.
Cornelia Steckhan lives and paints in Munich, Germany and Imperial Beach, California. The German artist's seemingly simple paintings reveal an incredible sophistication that expresses her emotional experience in contrast to physical reality.
After a successful business career, Cornelia began exploring art late in life, depicting her subjective emotions and reactions resulting from her personal experiences in her paintings. With her expressionist style, she made a huge impact on the art world in a short space of time — and created and applied an entirely new painting trend: Cosalien (Cosmos + Alien).
Her path to art ran through very different worlds first: high school and her Baccalaureate Diploma in Bucharest, Romania, studies in Marketing in Munich and Plymouth, United Kingdom, and training in Art at the Hamburg Academy, Germany — a foundation that still shows in the discipline behind her free, expressive style.
Beyond her own studio, Cornelia has also taught painting in California — to seniors, children, and autistic kids. She counts watching even handicapped children work with such eagerness among the most rewarding moments of her career.
"In my paintings, I combine imagination and emotion to share my unique perspective on the world. I find inspiration in every moment of this incredible journey we call life."
